Nurazmal Yusoff’s decade-long pursuit of a full-time art career has been marked by unwavering dedication. Early sketches reveal a young artist with nascent talent, which blossomed into a diverse practice encompassing expressionism and conceptualism. A member of the artist collective Dikalajingga, Yusoff, or Ali, shares a bond with fellow artists rooted in university camaraderie and a shared passion for music and figurative art. This foundation is evident in his 2008 works, characterized by masterful realism. While Ali’s artistic style has evolved, his core concerns remain consistent. His art is a reflection of personal experiences, societal observations, and political commentary. A pivotal moment arrived in 2007-2008, when he embarked on a self-imposed artistic review, seeking fresh perspectives.
