Kuala Lumpur born Bhanu’s journey in life has been one of twists and turns. Emerging from his final year in school with an impeccable academic award, he was one of those destined for a successful career. A journey into medical school in India drew him to the vast spiritual realms and then he returned home to Malaysia as an artist. Bhanu’s output during his forty year career as an artist has been both impressive and consistent. His works have been exhibited extensively in the country and three pieces are now part of the National Art Gallery’s permanent collection and also a part of many private collections. Bhanu Achan’s works manifest a struggle to find meaning beyond form and content.
Cool, insistent and calm, this piece is remindful of the soothing colours found in the elements of Mother Nature’s sky. A lover of nature, Bhanu draws inspiration from it creating this abstract work.
