# SALA VEGAN
Sala, a word that translates to ‘slavar a los animales (save the animals)’ in Spanish is a vegan-slanted and environmentally- sustainable restaurant which champions clean and green twists to famous food staples like Nasi Lemak. On Fridays, Sala doles out the hearty and warming Bakso — an Indonesian meatball soup dish which is traditionally made from beef. At Sala, the broth is made from pure vegetables while the ‘meatballs’ are made from mushroom and served with meehoon, tofu and tempeh, along with two spicy sauces for a piquant kick. From the Specials menu, we love the Chimichanga which comes with a choice of air-fried or deep-fried chimichanga with mushroom asada, black beans, cilantro lime brown rice, nacho cheese sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla topped with vegan chilli, nacho cheese sauce, vegan sour cream and a lime wedge.

# JIBBY BY THE PARK
With a menu that offers a meld of Asia and the Antipodes’ best, there is something to suit every palate at Jibby by the Park. Sunday brunch calls for the Jibby Big Breakfast — a plate featuring indulgent artisan chicken sausages, beef bacon, mushroom, sautéed kale and onion, falafel hash brown, roasted tomato and a slice of sourdough bread alongside your choice of egg. On the healthy side, there’s the Crispy Shredded Duck and Watermelon Salad, a refreshing dish that sees a medley of rocket leaves, mint, Kyuri cucumber, avocado, cheese, crispy pita, feta cheese and a drizzle of yuzu vinaigrette for harmony. Utterly delicious and satiating. From the mains, the 300gm Murray Pure Ribeye accompanied by Greek fries and barbecue chilli jam might strike your fancy. On the other hand, for a taste of familiarity, the Ayam Bakar Madu or Tiger Prawn Wok-Fried Spaghetti is reminiscent of a good hawker stall. Save room for desserts because the Jibby by the Park Berry Pavlova Ice Cream and Beignet are worth every calorie.

# KENNY HILLS BAKERS
What started out in 2014 as a small bakery-cum-cafe operating in a tiny half-lot in Taman Tunku with the sole purpose of serving great coffee, amazing pastries, cakes and organic breads has flourished to three successful outlets throughout KL and have served thousands of people, many of whom have become Kenny Hills Bakers loyalists. The Kenny Hills Bakers at Bukit Tunku has the most serene backdrop of trees and nature — a community watering hole for those who enjoy lingering over coffee and pastries. Treat your palate to fluffy-flaky croissants with a side of butter or marmalade as well as cappuccino or flat white. Alternatively, for something heftier, opt for their signature pies, namely, the Fish Pie featuring fresh snapper, butterfish and smoked salmon in a cream sauce, topped with an all-butter puff pastry. Yum. For the sweet tooth, indulge in Kenny Hills Bakers’ famed Peach Strudel. You won’t be sorry.

# CAFÉ DELI BY EL MESÓN
El Mesón brings you the best of Spain comprising authentic and traditional fare. The ingredients are sourced locally and abroad and goes through careful curation before each dish reaches the taster. Gastronomical offerings are made tastier with its rotating menu, which gets spruced up every quarter. The brand’s latest sister restaurant, Café Deli, is relaxed, offering al fresco and indoor seating. While the core at Café Deli by El Meson remains authentically Spanish, it is supplemented by an enticing bakery counter offering various pastries and danishes and local and western favourites. Pork is still a highlight at this restaurant, with plenty of plant-based options too.

# YAYOI JAPANESE TEISHOKU RESTAURANT
Traditionally, meals in Japan consist of one soup dish and three other dishes (one main dish and two side dishes). This style of cuisine integrates various combinations of cooking methods and seasonal ingredients, including from both land and sea. Each meal provides
a good balance of nutrients, which is why people in Japan continue to believe that this way of eating is the foundation of a healthy diet. Indulge in the restaurant’s Yayoi Gozen, served in a traditional box packed with signature dishes including the Chicken Nanban, Salmon Salad, Saba Shioyaki and Beef Sukiyaki.
